New Chapter was one of the career highlights for Aswad, and one of the stronger undiluted reggae albums to appear on a major label in the early '80s. The group at this point had command of several qualities that not many reggae acts were able to combine all at once: strong soulful harmonies, modern squiggly and swooping electronic effects, tight rhythms, a sweetly mournful brass section Price: $

'New Chapter' represent Aswad's, albeit brief, creative peak. For most of its tracks, even those with ho-hum titles like "I Will Keep on Loving You" and "He Gave the Sun to Shine", Aswad balances the heavy roots, dub influence of Lee Perry and King Tubby with a supple, jazzy swing.

The original album 'New Chapter' was Aswad at it it's best; before they went into a more 'Top 40' direction. This is the dub version of that album. If you like dub versions, this is the best ever made. I burned a CD combning both albums on one disc with each original song followed by it's dub version - Fantastic!! Highly recommended/5(18).

The second album From LKJ, a tough and tight follow up to Dread Beat and Blood, with the poet coming just as hard out the box this time around as the first. Johnson's righteous lyrical indignation, terse delivery, and rhythmic focus dovetail perfectly with tight, fat riddims from a crack band LP, Vinyl record album.
